Cylinder locks can be found on uPVC and other kinds of doors. There are also cylinders constructed to withstand snapping. This is a common occurrence on cylinders. A specific tool is used to break the lock's break line and the front of the cylinder is snapped off. Spring Cassette
The spring cassette is positioned in the base of your door handle's backplate providing a sprung solution to return the multipoint lock handles back to their rest position after usage. It also stops your door from getting stuck in the closed or open position since they are difficult to close manually.
These spring cassettes are specially made for use with multipoint locks that are sprung but they won't work with unsprung multipoint handles and you will require a hole specifically cut in your backplate in order for them to fit (please check the image for a technical diagram).
